Will car pass MOT with broken wing mirror?

Help!

my car has a broken wing mirror - on drivers side. The glass is broken, the very end is "flapping" in the breeze a little but it all still attached.
The black plastic is also smashed - but this is cosmetic.

What do you think - will it pass?

I am bidding on a replacement mirror on eBay. but bid doesn't finish until tomorrow evening and car is being serviced/MOT'ed on monday. (It was later next week but I had to bring it forward due to various other commitments)

and before anyone starts with the girly driver comments - it got smashed when someone coming the opposite meandered over the central white line (guess i should be grateful he/she didn't do more damage!)

If it has jagged edges it will fail - can't you remove it altogether?

Get a cheap self adhesive mirror glass to stick in just for the test.

YOU CANNOT REMOVE IT. You are required to have a minimum of an internal and drivers side rearview mirror. If it were the passenger side you could remove it but it isn't. As mentioned, a stick on one is the best solution.

The MoT Manual says you have to have either a external offside mirror or an external nearside mirror or an internal mirror. Any mirrors above this requirement are not tested.

The drivers door mirror - the damaged one - is mandatory. You then can either have an internal mirror or a passenger side one but there must be a drivers one.

You don't have to have a door mirror. The wing mirror (with the replacement glass) is OK.

Not necessarily true. Depends on the age of the vehicle.
    See here.
My 1969 Rover has no exterior mirrors but passes the MOT every time.

For a car you need either a drivers side mirror or an interior mirror. For a goods vehicle you must have a drivers side mirror and either a passenger side mirror or an interior mirror.

That link to the MOT manual reads differently
    Obligatory mirrors area.
an exterior mirror fitted to the offside (right-hand side when seated in the driver's seat),
    or
    b. an exterior mirror fitted to the nearside (left-hand side when seated in the driver's seat),
    or
    c. an interior mirror

    and then it says

all passenger vehicles first used on or after 1 August 1978 (not being a minibus as above), must have two mirrors, one of which must be option 'a'.

So drivers side + one of the others is required.
