another point for some to consider is that if you are travelling as a couple it effectively guarantees you sitting together, regardless of what time you get to check-in. even if you are only first on a bus, you can make sure you don't get stuck in a corner at the back.
as for checking in really early i've seen it where people have been turned away to the back of the queue for being too early0 -
We operate a free seating policy which means that you can choose where you sit on the aircraft. easyJet operates a strict priority boarding system and you will be boarded by the sequence you checked-in at.
The aircraft is boarded in groups, starting with passengers who have purchased Speedy Boarding (boarding group SB), followed by passengers travelling with babies and children of 5 years old and under (boarding group SA). Boarding will then continue with group ‘A’ boarding cards, and finally group B. Group A is reserved for passengers who have checked in online, and the first 30 people who check in at the airport. Remember that if you booked Speedy Boarding you must be at the gate no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure of your flight or you’ll lose your place in the Speedy Boarding group. If you’re late, we won’t wait!
not being funny but is this just general info or making a point about the boarding system ?0 -
The above was copied and pasted from Easyjet`s help page for general information and HELP and guidance.0

that is exactly how it has worked in my experience0

i've looked at my boarding pass and realised i was the 90th + person to check-in for my particular flight but then been among the first 10 or so people to be called forward for boarding first.
also quite often get to sit in one of the 1st three seats with feet of legroom ......
all for the sum of about a fiver.
if i still used them for a regular route that i flew, i'd of bought the season ticket which would have added pennies to the price of each flight .
i actually hold the contra view that it's the non speedy boarding people who look peeved.
point to note ....it can depend on which airports you use but personally i'd pay it to just avoid the lengthy check-in queues
?????
That sounds more like speedy check in, not speedy boarding!Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

For those who are worried about being separated from their OH on the flight - I have flown dozens of times with friends and OH on airlines ranging from Emirates and Qantas to Ryanair and easyJet - and have never once been separated from them on even the most packed flights. And I've never paid for SB. It is a big fat waste of money and any MSEer worth their salt should not pay it! I wouldnt other to be honest, if you had kids and they werent comfortable with being seperated from you then yes it would be a good idea but if your old enough and dont mind where you sit then dont pay itNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

In the small print on speedy boarding there is a disclaimer about the possibility of having to board coaches and thus no guarantee you will end up onboard first. On these routes the speedy boarding is cheaper. There is a good chance of being boarded first in the UK. In Spain it's a complete lottery.
I wouldn't bother.Timmay!0 -
The whole speeddy boarding thing is totally overrated, unless you really want the overwing exit seats. Otherwise just pay the normal rate, get to the airport early and you'll still definitely get to sit together.0
