Awwww 3 week old pups just soooooooooo cute.

I remember when I met Rubes she was 2 days old and so cute and now she is a big lanky springy thing lol. Who I hasten to add rather than keeping me company has gone upstairs to bed :o

She doesn't often get left as either my Ex or me are at home with my little girl. The longest I have left her so far is around 5 hours and she was fine.

I let her have the run of the house, I always have done since she was born. I know some people don't agree with this but I'm a big softie lol.

I bought a plastic sheet which I lay down by our back door with some newspapers and she does all her "toilets" on there and has done since about the second week of having her.

She really is very well behaved and haven't come home to anything. Quite often when I come home she is upstairs asleep as I hear her come blundering down the stairs when she hears my keys in the door.

My sisters puppy is left every day whilst she works at a preschool. She has quite a big kitchen so she locks him in there but to be honest he has been a sod. He obviously gets bored being shut in there and has chewed her cupboards and pulled up her lino

Not sure if this is because he is shut away or because he is a little boy.

    Thanks for that hun.

Im just slightly nervous about leaving him so long on his own. Although as a breed they sleep for quite a lot of the time, especially when pups.

DH and I are going to work alternate days off, but that will leave 3 days a week where he'll be alone for a longer period of time....
My mum was going to come down for the odd day..... do you think 3 days would be ok?
He's going to have the run of a large kitchen, utility room and large living room (basically all of the downstairs)...
Pugs are inherently lazy dogs so i dont think he's going to go too mental ripping and chewing things if he's got some sources of entertainment like toys etc

I agree get it lots of toys to play with. One of the best things I bought for her was a soft toy, especially designed for dogs as a comforter so she had something to snuggle up with. They are used to sleeping in a massive group so can feel quite lost when on there own.

Get one from a pet shop rather than a kiddies one as they are made of different materials which are safe for dogs to chew on.

my friend at work is lending us a new pup bed which is closed in, so they are in contact all round the sides, which is designed to make them feel secure and comforted.
Was also going to get a soft toy for him as well and tgot take it with us to the breeder and roll it round in the bed, with his mum and the other pups so its their scent as well to help him settle....
Been trying to look for a suitable bowl as well. Theyve got short snouts so if the bowl is too deep they end up with their faces all in it, which gets into the folds etc.... so am trying to find a more shallow bowl which is more suitable but coming up blanks at the moment.

Any advice on things to get for a new pup would be really handy lol
I know I need bowls, bed, comfort toys, chew toy, harness lead, some baby wipes and cotton buds (for cleaning their folds), nail clippers and a short hair brush.... i'm thinking heat pad as well, especially whilst he's young, as a breed they feel temperature more than others and cant regulate themselves as much by panting....

Oh and I ordered a book as well today so need to take that off my spends total... which was at £55, but spent £6 on book so £49 left
Bought "Pugs for Dummies" on amazon lol

Our breeder gave us part of their bed but to be honest it absolutely stunk and I couldn't have it in the house. God that sounds harsh but seriously it stunk. As did she.

They sleep together but they also wee and poop on each other. Day 2 my poor little pup was having her first shower :rotfl:

She cried more or less all the first night and would only sleep with me snuggling her :D
