Could you look at combining your home phone and satellite at all? Although know this may be limited when you are in rented.

Car parking? Is this an essential or could you find a street nearby?

Groceries - may be room for a little reduction there if just the two of you and the puglet :D

Other than that it all looks pretty good to me.

We've got Sky, so we get all our landline calls for free, broadband and Sky tv for £26 but we have to pay seperate landline calls to BT, but I think now we're actually in credit with them. It used to be £35 a month to pay the set up charges etc. Will see what our next bill comes in as (its quarterly) and call them to arrange putting our direct debit down.

Car parking will actually be for our upcoming travel into work when we move. We can get a bus, but for 2 of us that will actually work out more expensive than if we drive to the Park and Ride, and then pay £2 a day for parking and bus ride into town from the park and ride,as you can have 5 people on one token at the park and ride, whereas bus travel will be near on £3 each per day.

Groceries is more likely to be the most controllable aspect.... just wanted to see if anyone could see anything that I couldnt..

    Christ!!!!
Might have to try that when it comes to us moving.
Last time I moved they charged me £90 for relocation...perhaps when I call them to cancel i can explain the cost and see if I can get them to relocate it for free and get the cost put down

Looks really good & certainly puts mine to shame :o

You could have a real go at the groceries bill before the move to clear your cupboards and freezer. Do you have a garden you could grow things in at the new home? (Might need protecting from the pup!)

    I completely forgot about that!
The garden is actually a pretty good size but before we let pup go mad out there would probably work on making it more secure, part of it is also sectionned off with a fence and gate so could always make that a veggie patch if we were feeling that inclined.... its a very good idea, just not sure its something we'd be 100% motivated to do...decisions decisions....

Will defo try and work through all our stocks of things before we move...
Looks like it'll be potatoes curries for quite a while :rotfl:

Trust me, girl, once you have tasted runner beans fresh picked from the plant and served with a nice slice or two of slow cooked brisket, you'll never want to go back to shop bought!

I'm not the worlds most enthusiastic gardener, but I had six plants which went in very late this year, and although only five survived the initial onslaught by slugs (who were in turn assaulted by slug pellets - wow, that was a slimy massacre! :D), I was both eating them almost every night AND giving them away. Had they been in on time, I may have been buried in beans...

The most shocking thing about it all is in the supermarket a pack of runner beans contining about twice the amount I would use for one meal was £2!
