It should still be there as an email attachment... just re-open the email and download the attachment again
.
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

It's saves a temp copy in it's temp location (usually somewhere close to your Internet Explorer temp files!). Just don't open the file again or it may overwrite the one with you changes!
Try searching for the file extension (i.e. *.doc) and make sure "hidden files and folders" and "System files" is selected. you might get lucky.Laters

cant seem to find the temporary files in vista - though can do it on the other pc which has xp??
what did you mean about not opening it?0 -
Do you have Recent Items on your start menu? Have a look in there.
Failing that, try a search. Google desktop search may be helpful.0 -
I meant don't open the attachment in the Email again.
My vista is rusty.. but there should be a users folder look for the following path:[I]C:\users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\
it should be somewhere in that folder..

ok - thanks for that
er, sorry if this sounds a stupid question but where do i type that?
I tried it in the address bar like it was a website and it said it could not open that web page???0 -
double click on "My Computer" then click "C:\" then "Users".. and so on..
or type "file:///C:\....." (note the 3 "/" slashes! ) in internet explorer..
*note*

Vista search is extremely powerful. You can do it from the search box of the start menu by simply typing in some of the text that you think would appear in the email.0

Is this and MS Word document?
Does it not show in your list of recent documents opened?
Highlight it and it will open it from wherever you have saved it. Then do a 'save as' into a place where you want to keep it.0 -
It took me ages to realise that if I downloaded something in Vista I then had to open the download file and then send it to where I wanted it to be......
I loved XP, am getting to grips with vista now, although it still drives me crazy at times...............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
