Worm Removal Help Please

Im running xp on my pc.I have zone alarm and e trust antivius but have still managed to let a worm enter my system via e mail. I know the worm is VBS.fireburn.A It has inserted two lines into my registry, which after a certain length of time lock up my keyboard and mouse.I run my antivirus but it never picks up on this worm or removes it! My antivirus is updated daily.Yet when I use Symentec online scanner it picks up on this infection straight away.I need step by step instructions as to how to remove it myself.If not as a last resort will have to transfer what files i can to laptop (limited hard disc space) and crash the system on the family pc.Any ideas guys.Thanks in advance for any help.

The easiest way to find out how to remove a Worm etc. is to do a google search with the term and it will throw up the security sites/forums etc. and usually you'll find removal instructions. THIS SITE is one I found with a google search, you might want to use one of the others.
