My Vodafone bill has doubled!!!!

Just wondering if anyone can help me please.

I have a Vodafone mobile phone contract. My bills for the last 12 months have generally been around the £30 a month mark which I was happy with as I got 200 any network minutes, 250 texts a month included and free weekend calls to landlines and other vodafone mobiles. All of a sudden my "promotional deal" as vodafone put it has ended and I seem to be paying £14 a month extra for the text message package and I no longer have the free weekend calls. My bill for this month is £66  !

In an ideal world I would like to get shot of my contract and go back to Pay as you go probably switch to O2 as well but I think I am locked in to a contract for another 18 months.... is there anyway around this?

Thanks

You say you have been on this contact for the last 12 months,so it is extremely unlikely to go on for another 18 months. Most contracts last for 12/18 months.
Check first with Voda first to see when it actually finishes. It might be you can give a months notice now.

Its an 18 month contract and I am 13 months into it. If I phone them and ask to cancel would they offer me any incentives to stay?

You cant strictly cancel it because you have 5 months left. You could consider reducing it to the lowest tariff they have, and start up your O2 payg service. That might save you money. They might also might let you buy yourself out of contract early, ask them and see if this cost effective.

    Yes I agree with pricefighter.

If you can downgrade to lowest tariff, which I would guess you can do, then you can ring them on the first day of month 18 and get your PAC code. Simply port it across to a O2 PAYG sim and your contract will end a little bit earlier than the full 18 months.
