Ryanair Credit Card Charges
GHogan
I recently booked a flight for 7 people for a weekend trip on the Ryanair website. When I came to pay for the flights I was charged an additional £56 in credit card fees (£4 each way for all 7 passengers). Is this legal? Surely the charges charged by the card companies relate to the transaction and not the number of people. I understand that the flights are generally cheap but these additional charges, surely must be based on actual costs and not merely a method of supplementing the low flight prices.

This subject has been done to death recently on this forum. If you do a search I'm sure you can find plenty more threads where you can vent your rage ;0)0

If you search on here, there's hundreds of threads about the exact same thing, not only about Ryanair but other budget flight companies too.
The charge is levied by RyanAir, therefore they can charge what they like.Surely the charges charged by the card companies relate to the transaction and not the number of people.
You've hit the nail on the head!but these additional charges, surely must be based on actual costs and not merely a method of supplementing the low flight prices.
Of course they are a method of supplementing the low flight charges.
In exactly the same way as charging if you don't wish to (or can't) check in on-line, or if you want to check in luggage or have priority boarding.
I don't want to sound like a champion of RyanAir, but my personal experience with them is that they do some pretty cheap deals from my local airport - even taking debit/credit charges into account.
I book city breaks, take only hand luggage, check in on-line, don't pay for priority boarding and still think the cost is good.
Your option is to choose to fly with another airline, if you can get flights cheaper.
How much would flights from the same airport to the same destination cost with BA?0 -

Who else charges per person per flight? Most charge per booking
If you read THIS thread:

I guess you'll find the answer is Flybe, according to dn197sj!!!!
I just can't see the problem here.
Either you book with a particular airline and pay what they are asking, or you book with another company.
Either accept the T&Cs, or don't.
Just don't moan about how a 2p flight has turned into £x because of extra charges.
Do some research and if you can find equivalent flights (similar departure times, same airports) cheaper with another company, book it.

is not looking too accurate, then.Who else charges per person per flight? Most charge per booking
I know if you book a package holiday and pay on credit card, there is a charge PER BOOKING but we're not talking about package holidays here, are we?0 -
