Best brand of exterior paint?

I've got a large amount of exterior woodwork (barge boards, soffits, gutter boards etc) which I need to strip down, primer and paint. The metal garage door needs to be done as well since all the old paint is peeling and flaking off that. I want to do a good job now and not have to revisit it all for another few years if possible.
Short of the costly replacing it all with plastic route, can anyone with some experience in these matters suggest a good brand of exterior gloss paint which is going to last a while outside in all weathers?
Many thanks for any help.

The decorator we use has always suggested that we stick to Dulux or Johnstones (sp?) paint. He seems to have an issue with Crown - but I have never got him to tell me why he deson't like it.

Crown probably shut his direct account as thats the norm for them..0

Dulux Paint centres are a bit pricy if you are buying standard paint.
I use Santex High Gloss paint ( Door Paint but can be used anywhere outdoors ) and the finish is really great. Great depth of colour and good application properties - easy to apply, smooths out brush marks well and doesn't run too readily. Price is only pennies more than Dulux.
Did my metal garage doors this summer in British racing Green and it went on top of the badly faded old paint without a run and only one coat to cover.
Incidently I have been using Dulux Gloss indoors recently and its been giving me headaches - Maybe its a coincidence but I think they have changed the formulation as it seems to dry really quickly.qui tacet consentire -
