Phones4U redemption rule 12 about changing phones
Hi,
I wonder if someone can give some advice about the Phones4U redemption rule 12 which states "Non-identical handset exchanges will invalidate all Cheque Back redemptions".
I'm 5 months into a 12 month contract with Vodafone and recently bought a new mobile phone (I got fed up with the one which came with my contract). The new phone was locked to Vodafone. I basically just transferred the sim card across and carried on as normal. I also sold the old phone to cover the costs of the new one.
The thing which is worrying me now is Phones4U will not pay out any cashback because I've changed my mobile phone. I'm still paying my monthly bills to Vodafone as usual and haven't changed my call plan.
Will Phones4U refuse to pay out now? Also, how will they know I've changed my phone?
Any advice/help will be greatfully received.
Thanks.

No there's no problem with changing your phone. It's only if you sent it back to them and changed it to a different model. Reason being that subsidy levels will change the deal depending on the handset and therefore the reason why some deals are only available with some handsets. The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!

Apart from that, they won't know if you don't tell them! I regularly swop sims and phones around and never had a problem. I also sell the phones sometimes without problems.0

Wow, thanks for the super fast response Sid!
That's a great relief to know.
My first redemption period of 60 days starts in 2 days time and I was panicking some what! I have never claimed from Phones4U before either. I have previously used cashback deals with Dial-a-phone for my last 2 contracts without any problems.0
