Weller, I have only recently started posting on here again after some time away, so we have probably not spoken before. But, I had to post and say how genuinly sorry I am to hear what has happened. If it is any small consolation at all, please know that reading your posts has made me sit up and appreciate more exactly what I have in life. Hopefully when you are ready, our words can help you feel a little better.

Love and (((hugs))) to you xxx

I don't think we've ever spoken on here before but as a DFW I feel a connection and community on this board which naturally makes me concerned about everyone on here as though I know them personally.

I just had to post to offer my condolences. None of this will be making sense right now but clearly there are a number of people here who are there to prop you up when you need them. There may be times when you need someone "faceless" to talk to, everyone on DFW is here for you.

Keep hold of the good memories, cherish them. To start with they may be painful or make you feel angry or resentful but in time, baby steps remember, I promise that they will carry you through the good times and the bad like a trusted friend.

And everyone handles grief differently. So don't let anyone tell you what you should do. But don't ever think you are alone. You have the fantastic people of DFW here at all times of the day and night if ever you need the support.

My thoughts are with you and your family. Look after yourself.

  • Dear friend, I, too, lost my husband in my case nine years ago. I know it hurts. Look for grieving places on the net. At the beginning it helps to think of little rituals to keep him in mind, but after a while, they will lessen. Anniversaries will always be hard as will the songs sung at the funeral. Please pm me if you want to talk to someone who has been there.
