Your help is appreciated...

So many posts and so many good deals my head is hurting reading them all.

Your help is appreciated;

I'm currently on PAYG with Virgin and spend about £20 per month on it.

I want a newer (free would be nice) phone (current = V600) (I like the V3's...)
I want 200 minutes a month or more
I want 300 texts a month or more
I'd like to listen to MP3's on the phone and don't mind getting an memory stick upgrade if possible
No cashback deals - I'm not that organised.
I want to pay roughly what I'm paying now.

HELP - What do you suggest?

  • Have a look here: https://www.e2save.com

They do all types of phones on all networks with some pretty decent deals. A quick scout and i couldnt find 200 minutes 200 texts for £20 unless you go with 3. I have no experience with them but i have heard enough horror stories to put me off ever using them. Have a look though and see what you can find. To me Orange seem to offer the best deals at the moment (excluding 3).

I suggest you get more organised ;)

You will not get anything near what you want without a cashback deal :)

The nearest I can see would be o2onlineoffpeak500 with a free v3 and 500 offpeak minutes and 500 texts for £25/mo

If you need peak/crossnet, the o2online200 would give you a free v3 with 200 crossnet, 500 texts for £30/mo

    Both on 12 month contracts.

I am wondering how you only pay £20/month with that level of usage on payg!

    Cheers, Des.

i'd say you should check direct deals with orange on their wbsite and likewise o2's online deals. not sure you can get what you want for £20 anywhere though?

oh and on the phone front if you want to use it as an mp3 player then perhaps the V3 isn't an option - iirc it has small and non upgradeable memory? orange and o2 should both offer a free SE K750i which has upgradeable memory and is a very good all round device.

  • Thanks folks - I'll look into these.
