Interesting that Citroen are in 8th place since all french cars are rubbish apparently.

Bottom ten brands in the UK

Note that Audi, Saab, Mercedes, Jaguar and porsche are all in the bottom ten and Porsche are the worst of the lot.

French cars are no way cheaper than Japanese ones.

However, French spend money on accessories where as Japanese put money on mechanical bits.

That's why Japanese cars are dull but way better than French cars which look better.

Shame that Renault put Nissan into current state. :(
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

've had my Micra C+C Sport for a year and a half now and had no problems whatsoever. I don't think it's fair to brand all Nissans rubbish because you had a bad experience. Problems with cars can be caused by several factors, including the way it is driven. (Not that i am suggesting the OP is a bad driver... :rotfl: )

My sister has had a new shape since they changed it a few years ago, can't remember when, must be more than 5.. Never had a single problem.

My Mum had a new Micra in 1992 when they first came out in the UK, we still see it scooting round near us, and it still looks almost new.

Nissan may not be as good now as they once were and but in the grand scheme of things the cars they produce are great quality and are reliable, as long as you look after them they will just keep going and going!

My first car was a 18 year old Nissan Sunny that had done 130k miles, never missed a beat and could beat any boy racer away from traffic lights! Since then I've had an array of Jap and French cars, I'll never look at another French car for as long as I live, they were rubbish and cost me a lot of money!
  • according to the same site as posted earlier the micra is the 10th most reliable car

I think that it is you that should heed your own advice, Toyota's and Nissan have a worldwide reputation for reliablity, the same certainly cannot be said for Renault's.

Stoney ground:p my closed minded fellow poster.
My advise is always based on personnal experience (of which I have a considerable amount), not hearsay or the word of others. 5 years ago I wouldnt have had anything other than a VX, but then others in the family bought VWs quite a few Renaults etc etc.

We have had no problems with any modern car, they are all dam good:T

Yes of course there is the odd rogue car but it can be from any manufacturer.

The days are long gone when anyone can say; don't buy Skoda, don't buy Citroen etc

The only real consideration is how much you are prepared to pay for a car and what you expect for your money.

We are looking to replace the wifes 6 year old 1.5dci Clio, (which incidentally Mr Inactive has yet to breakdown or see a garage), at the end of the year. On the short list was the new Clio estate but is now likely to be the Nissan Note because it gives more space + more toys for less cost, not because I think it any less likely to go wrong.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
