Not sure this is the right turn of phrase...don't think I've ever seen a Micra going strong, new, old or otherwise...

Did you mean to say "I know one chap who's still driving his old Nissan Micra at 150k, it's still going slowly" ? ;)

My old Micra was a 0.9 engine, it had lots of power. I took it all over the British Isles, from the hills of Scotland to the flats of Dorset. It never met a hill it could not handle and even when loaded down was fine.

As for speed, it was very fast, for such a small engine.

I am sure the 1.2 version had more power, but I never needed any more power than I had.

Sorry had to laugh at your 0.9 engine having "lots of power" and being very fast!

I have got a 1.8 diesel focus that is very slow but a bit faster than a small micra

No they always were and still are carp.

    They just ruined Nissan.

I'll have a bet with you, I bet that you/I will see more broken down Toyotas and Nissans on the M1 hard shoulder than Renaults or all the other makes put together.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

WelI have owned my new shape Micra for a few months now, do alot of miles and fingers crossed no problems as yet. Admittedly they do have quite a fuddy duddy image. I have always thought this new shape to be quite charming and more modern looking than the previous style.

Goldspanners - Never had any problem with electrics on my 11. Had car for abt 7 yrs, had clutch cable go (twice), petrol tank rusted at seams and I think wheel bearings. Used to tow horsebox (pony inside must have been abt 400 kg +) and when sold car had over 120K on clock. Renault 4 I had did 25K in 5 yrs and let me down only once - expired battery.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

I think that it is you that should heed your own advice, Toyota's and Nissan have a worldwide reputation for reliablity, the same certainly cannot be said for Renault's.
  • lots of misguided people in here who only believe what they are told rather than they have seen with their own eyes
