How do Jet2 get away with their website?
Comments
-
I've just booked a flight with monarch and their website is exactly the same as the Jet2 site, with one difference, when I got to the end there was an error message saying 'there is a slight problem, please try again'.
After trying a couple of times I had to ring them and they said there was nothing wrong with their website, so I said 'there obviously is or I would have been able to complete my booking', at that point they told me that if I had filled in either the 'create an account with us' details (which I did as I thought it was required for me to be able to complete the booking), or if I had put in a discount code, this error would occur.
I assume this means no one can use a discount code with monarch.0 -
i thought all this crap was going to be illegal ?"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

can anyone explain what a fuel supplement is? if fuel prices drop between booking and flying date, how do i get a refund? The end price is what you pay, however to see the hidden charges from the base price makes you really frustrated. the days of cheap travel are behind us, but what on earth is a fuel supplement? is there no fuel included in the base price?
I have flown regularly with Jet2.com in the last two years, and seen a number of online systems they use. At present, the latest one just makes me frustrated. I travel alone, i dont need to book a seat! in fact, if you turn up to check in early you get your seats together! I dont want insurance either, so why ask me twice?
grumbles at the online booking. Also I would like a loyality card, ive spent thousands and had no reward for doing so0 -
Have been disgruntled with Jet2 for a while now and travel a lot with them to Spain but yesterday discovered that Ryanair are now flying from Leeds Bradford to Alicante!!!
Checked the date I wanted to fly home in January and the price was £00.00!! Booked it quick and it was a much easier process than booking with Jet2. Bye Bye Jet 2 I won't be travelling with you again until you ditch all these sneaky extras.0 -
Just filled in yet another on-line survey with Jet 2 (in the hope of winning a free flight!) and this time they didn't get high praise heaped on them, as they have done previously. In the comments box at the end I expressed my disgust at their current booking procedure and the never-ending add-ons. Let's hope everyone else has done the same and we can go back to how it used to be. IF IT AINT BROKE DON'T FIX IT!!!
Didn't know about Ryanair, by the way, flying L/B to Alicante"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Um - you don't.
c.f domestic fuel/petrol/diesel. Price goes up, you pay, price goes down, they don't.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Ryanscare are just as sneaky, if not worse. They charge £4 per sector, per person and there are lots of boxes you have to un-check and things to change to keep costs down.

This reasoning doesnt lie with me? the price of fuel has always continued to rise in general in the last 10 years. However now they appear to have a licence to charge what ever they like!
S C A M !
I booked today so surely the website should account for todays price of fuel and as such the base price is adjusted. If the fuel price rises significantly before flying, then I would not mind paying a supplement, as can see the justification. Everyone hates hidden charges, and Jet2.com are increasing the hidden charges compared previous online booking systems.
As for the win a free Jet2.com flight survey - do they publish who wins them? Ive entered a few in my time, and sure my comments are never read.
I actually wonder who thinks the Jet2.com new booking portal is actually a good opearating system? My friend at work was complaining today about all the hidden charges, and actually thought he had no other option but to book a seat at additional cost! I explained otherwise and thankfully he was so annoyed at the add on charges he got to payment screen and and cancelled solely with 'pure frustration'0 -
After slating Jet2 and their booking procedure at every turn I must speak up in their defence just once! Mr TravellingAbuela's cousin actually won a flight for a survey!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Jet2.com are actually ok!
my recent booking final price I was more than happy to pay, but just this fuel supplement needs further investigation.
The first post gripe is the online booking system, and I tend to agree with it. second point is the fuel supplement (which isnt optional) so why is it not regarded as a base flight price.
Their customer care dept are reasonable when used once before, I reckon I will script a letter and send it to them asking them to explain.0
