You can get Guitar Hero III c/w wireless guitar controller for under £30 from Amazon.co.uk right now, and the same game on the Wii has just dropped greatly in price (to about £45) in many places (I saw it in Gamestation yesterday for that price). Both PS2 and Wii versions have a wireless guitar, but other than that I don't know how similar they are in terms of gameplay.
Obviously its not exactly like playing a guitar (no strings, no frets) but having had a go on my friend's Wii version last week I decided that it has some merit for a budding guitarist. Aside from possibly providing the inspiration for your son to learn the real thing, the workout his left hand will get and the co-ordination needed to use both hands to 'strum' and 'hold' the notes has got to be of some benefit. I was dubious before but now I'm a convert!
And I know at least two teenagers who, after being hooked on Guitar Hero, are now enthusiastically teaching themselves to play the electric guitar.:A 2021 Targets

Hi Guys,
Just seen this new competition where you can win a copy of Guitar Hero World Tour. Seem like all you have to do is state which version of the game you want and then you are entered into the FREE prize draw!
http://www.ghwt.co.uk
It's also a pretty cool site with news and reviews of Guitar Hero World Tour - by the videos on there it looks like it's going to be a cracking game!
Not long now!!! Woohoo!0 -

£36.99 delivered
www.shopto.net is normally good too - I think they are doing £37.99 but in my experience shopto deliver a few days before release day - which is always nice!0 -
Is it a bit naff if I don't get the drums and just guitar and software?
We have a PS2 (and Fr Xmas is bringing a Wii). Is it best on PS2 or the Wii??
Ta. x
(will I be able to get just the drums on their own later on??). Is the World Tour the best one to get.....haven't got any of them. Have 2 sons 11 and 9 who have expressed an interest, but will they be too young? Sorry - I have asked this before on a different thread...just don't want it to be a waste. x0 -
I would opt for the Wii - think it is going to definately be better on the Wii than the PS2 - there are some cool things for the Wii - like MiiFreestyle - cool little practice feature only for the Wii - video of this can be seen here: http://www.ghwt.co.uk/guitar-hero-4-videos.html
I don't know what to say about the ages of ur kids - I think as there are a number of difficulty settings your kids will def be able to get some enjoyment out of it - even if they dont master it just yet! Anyways, u can buy it as a prezzie for the youngsters...and secretly rock out when they have gone to bed!!
I think the drums are a definite accessory that you should consider purchasing - this is something the kids will most definitely enjoy!0 -
Hmmmm - what about the neighbours??!:D0

Hi,
I've been doing some online searches to find a Guitar Hero World Tour complete package (2 guitars, mic & drums pack) for better than £149.99, which seems to be the price I have found at Game, Play, Amazon, Woolies.
I can get 9% cashback via quidco on Game, plus I have a Game Reward Card, so can earn up to 3000 points (£7.50) if I pre-order, and have £10.50 of points to redeem on Game too.
All toll that will save me £31.49, so is it looking like a no-brainer, and to just go ahead with Game, or has anyone else found it cheaper??One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
I don't think it'll work, but might be worth a go:
http://hotukdeals.com/all/vouchers/new?expired=false&mf=163
(its a £3 off £30 spend, but says excludes hardware and software bundles)
I've got my GH4 on pre-order and I couldn't find cheaper than £149.99, so I think your Game option is looking very good.0 -
Anyone know the best deals for this ds only wants the software and guitar.Thanks0
