I would like to get non contract Broadband, please could I have people’s recommendations? I already have the modem/hardware etc. I'm not necessarily looking to go with the cheapest provider but the one who provides the best balance of service/cost.
Thanks

zazizam has a nice cost for capped 2mb, and unlimited 512,1mb,2mb packages - more so if you join their phone scheme as well
i think their service is resonable, comes with a min 3 month contract though
- however, its either than, 12 month from big providers, or 1 month providers whom 'fine' you if you leave within 12 months 0 -
EDIT: Metronet have been bough out by PlusNet. Everything I have written below will change.
Metronet http://www.metronet.co.uk do a range of packages (look here) starting at £11.75 a month (inc VAT). £70 connection fee, min period one month.
Not only that, they have a good reputation for customer service.

I'll backup what StephenB says, been with them without a hitch for a year and half. I like the idea that you pay in arrears only for what you use. Great when going on holiday. C/s I'm told is excellent though I have never needed to use it. Out of hours help on ADSLguide.co.uk

Virgin.net have 30 day contract starting at £14.99 per month with free modem, no connection fee.0

It really depends on why you're going for a non contract broadband, with blueyonder if you're a student you can now put it on hold for only £5 a month. If you look for student packages there should be a suitable one there.
If you're only interested in non contract broadband well I think that most companies will allow you to do this on the basis that you buy the equipment, ie modem.0
