  • yes single premium, i have as plan of action though...won't reach platinum til 6 months in though and only joining gym when i reach gold :) will post my plan soon!
  • Hi

I signed up in early june and got a letter 10 days ago to say that the initial 3 month period had ended, (it has now ended on 31st August), and i would still need to pay £30 for gym in addition to the £22 i pay for health cover, i logged into the site on the 25th (first time i had ever logged in lol) and noticed that i only had 20 visits logged in since i opened the account with a target number of visits at 25 to qualify at £15 a month for this new quarter,

The person at pru health said i needed to be going between 1-2 times a week and it was assessed over 3 months, was pretty confident i had those visits in the bag but cant remember dates now:rolleyes:

Anyway i've been the last 5-6 days straight but they dont seem to have updated on the site (it does say upto 2-4 weeks to credit a visit) and £30 just left my account for gym:eek: today, anyone else had this prob, do i need to ring pru to sort this out and be paying £15 for this quarter or at least until the rule change,

Does the November 1st issue basicallly override all this as it interupts the quarter and i now default to full fees (occasional usage) until i get upgraded from Bronze etc,

When can i expect the £85 quidco?

Also what happens at the free gym assesment, how do i arrange it etc?

    Cheers:beer:
  • Has anyone received unsolicited mail as a result of signing up to PruHealth?

I just read their Terms and Conditions for a quote which states:

' PruHealth, members of the Prudential group of companies* and their business partners will use your information together with other information for administration, customer services, marketing and profiling your purchasing preferences. We will pass your information to them (including our service providers and agents (and the Scheme employers, intermediaries and agents if applicable) for these purposes.'

In Year2 I can look forward to 100% off my premium (not inc inflation with age etc) and I keep my platinum status at the gym and I get 10% of my points carried over so I start with 284pts (if I reach my intended total)

Also thinking of getting a Polar computer so I can gain more points by whizzing round sainsburys trying to get the fruit n veg and doing the housework!

Hi! I think it is going to be easier to keep on a level now - the gym thing was a nightmare as so many of the visits would get lost in the system. At least now, if they do lose the visits, the benefits will not be lost to the member.
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam
  • I hit Platinum recently and just got an eamil to say next year's premium (Not London £1000 excess basic cover for 29 year old) will be £27.
There's nothing on the website with details of how that breaks down yet. It says I have an unread mail but I don't find it as the latest I can see is 2008 Q3. I suspect it will be in Q4.

I think we pretty much knew that anyway. However the question is/was what about the past? There was no indication of this limit on their website until recently. If they want to apply this to new customers or to everyone after November, I'd accept that but I think it's unfair if they're going to try an impose it on all of us right now. The sad thing is people don't seem to be bothered that they're seemingly doing this retroactively!!

150points per month is pretty bad because it means people will have to wait a long time to get to 2000 points.

Have only just come back to this thread having discovered 150pts did not count for me last month. Been on the phone to them for over half an hour. They said the points have always been like this (150pts max per month) even though I have been told otherwise by 4/5 people at Pruhealth. I was even given a points plan by one of their sales staff which included 150pts each for fitbug and gym. I even posted it in this thread. They are looking into the recorded conversations and will get back to me.

This is going to cost me 600pts and make getting to Platinum in the next 3months impossible other then spending silly amounts of screenings etc. To say I am P'eed off is an understatement.
  • Sorry to hear about this, Redknapp. I remember reading your posts and I bought a Fitbug as a result. As I am trying to lose weight, it is doing me some good to reach 12,500 paces a day as often as possible and it was quite cheap.
In fact I am thinking of ditching the gym at the end of the month in favour of Fitbug on its own. The gym is about 20 minutes' bike ride away and I often end up buying Lucozade sport or a flapjack to add to my gym spending.
I expect to move house fairly soon and will hopefully move closer to a participating gym, for which reason I am keeping in with PruHealth.
I think it's worth investigating whether you can earn Boots Advantage points if, in desperation, you get yourself scanned to go Platinum. They say Advantage points are the best of the loyalty schemes..
    Regards
    Rick

How hard is it to do 12,500 paces?
