From a detached to a semi - am I MAD??
Comments

I've just moved from a terraced to a detached. We never had any problems with our neighbours (although one neighbour had a chest infection before we moved and I could hear her coughing in the middle of the night. She did ask if she'd kept us awake). They never complained about us so I assume we were okay - but I was always conscious of hoovering or using the washing machine too late at night.0

Not always the case. Obviously building regs will stipulate a minimum requirement but that's not always good enough to block enough sound.
If it were me, I would cut off my left arm rather than give up a detached and head for a semi. There's always that area of uncertainty with neighbours, you could get good, you could get bad, you could get regular changes....I'd prefer the peace of mind that living in a detached brings.
I've never had the good fortune to be able to live in a detached property, I envy you tbh.Herman - MP for all!
