Best Tarriffs to phone landlines in Malta

Hi all!

I'm currently on an O2 PAYG phone, and get calls to Malta (EU) landlines for 10p/min. Looking for something else; would consider both contract phone (for about £15pm) or PAYG - requirements are free min/texts to UK and cheap calls to Malta.

Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Probably cheapest is what my mate had - a phone with wi-fi built in, and would then make calls over the net from his mobile when there was an internet connection nearby. I think it would probably need to be a phone with a symbian OS or Windows Mobile (on which you'd have to put the appropriate software), maybe someone else will knwo the technical details.

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately I'm not able to use WiFi as I use my phone on the go and there's almost no unsecured WiFi spots close to where I usually work/live.

I was thinking of any packages or 'add-ons' anyone knew about that might be more worthwhile than O2's International Bolt-On!

The virtual mobile brands IDT Lebara and Nomi all have 7 pence a minute direct dialled calls to Malta landlines. Using T-mobile with Yourcallworld would be 8p/min

If you get a mobile contract for other calls, then see the MSE Callchecker for using callthrough services with your inclusive minutes - choose those with ordinary access numbers not 0844 numbers.
