    IIRC, when I took out my policy with Virgin a couple of years back the phone quote was slightly cheaper than the online one, which I couldn't work out as I'm sure they fill out the same forms. So it is worth a try.

    Also, I don't know if its an option in your case but my brother reduced his premium by adding my father as a named driver. Again, I don't understand how this can happen but perhaps the insurers think think my father is a calming influence(?).

    It is the same for couples, a single driver policy is more expensive than when you put your OH as a named driver. It's stupid but it works.

    I can't remember if they even bother to ask for the address of the other named driver, if they don't you could put anyone you know down.
