Help please re: holiday

Hi guys im after a massive favour. I have a week off starting august 2nd and could go away either 2nd or 3rd for a week i have had a really rough year so far with one thing or another and have just found out im being made redundant some time over the next 6 months. I really need a holiday just to get away from things and chill out. I have a budget of around £500 for 2 of us but i cant really find anything can anybody reccomend anything or a website to try i was hoping i might get a late deal or something.

Would really appreciate peoples views and help.

Have you tried teletext holidays/holiday hypermarket/lastminute.com etc etc - all the tour operators websites should feature a late deals section.

If you post where you can fly from people may be able to help - also is there anywhere you really don't want to go?

Thanks guys so far i will fly from wherever preferably midlands but if its cheaper to fly from say gatwick then i will do that as for where to go i really am not too fussed just somewhere i can relax chill out and put my troubles behind me for a week.

Salou holiday-Above budget, but half board at £332.52 pp (i.e. £82.52 over budget per person, but only works out £11.78 per person for breakfast and dinner meals a day, so probably more cost effective than s/c)

www.ryanair.com Birmingham to Barcelona Reus Sun 3 Aug & Sun 10 Aug £147.36 for 2 adults including taxes etc (bags extra) £20 return on airport bus that meets all flights and drops/ picks up from hotels in Salou (pay on bus).

www.alpharooms.com Los Angeles Hotel half board £497.69. You may be able to find accomodation with some other website, but currently that is the best price I can find for peak season, last minute.

A great way to save money on Holiday is to Book Hostels or Backpackers Accommodation, if you don't fancy sharing a dorm room with strangers, you can book a Twin/Double room En-Suite Private.

I recommend Prague you can get a cheap flight from easy jet and book Hostels Accommodation online, with the budget you have £500 for two, you'll have a lot to spare to enjoy yourself. Another good place would be North Africa, Morocco or Tunisia, again cheap flights are readily available to these places.

The important thing is, you don't want to spent too much money on Flights and accommodation, you just want to get there and recharge.

Don't forget to do one for the environment whenever possible.
