dmg - my first time on the website for many years I should have said. Sorry had little sleep last night.
healy, this constant attack is boring and tiresome. I am grieving at the moment - just believe my motives are only to get off benefit without being broke. I'm not a scrounger or trying to defraud the system just a genuine claimant who doesn't know the right next step to take thats all - however I know more now and will not come on this forum again ok.0 -
quatro, if you're genuinely grieving, is this a good way to spend your time?
as for those who feel some sypathy for someone who's pointed out (for no reason) that they have a fully paid off £200k house and are getting an extra £100k in savings and they just don't know what to do because they don't know how it will be seen if they spend it when they claim means tested benenfits again, just read the bit about not intending to claim those benefits. So wihtout that concern, what as the point?
And if so many mis-read it, rather than it being what exactly what we saw, why delete it? Others would have seen us for what we are, and you for what you are OP.
And yet OP carries on defending his claim of the unfairness of losing his benefits just because he has £100k in savings (and his £200k house, again why was that relevant? Woudln't that make the perception of the post worse? Why would you do that? Oh gosh it really makes me wonder).0 -
I thought at the time I may have to claim again in the future - now I know it won't be the case so thats been cleared up.
I was stupid to delete the post - I thought it would stop the opinions about my character, that hasn't happened.
I have explained why I mentioned the house previously - to see if I could use the asset somehow to provide income.
You haven't read my previous comments fully or you would know I'm female.
I can assure you I am grieving and do not like the implication I am not.
I have been confused by the situation, coming on top of my loss - and trying to clarify it.
And what am I? Just a poster wishing for some financial advice thats all.0 -
I can't believe no one quoted the OP! Just read the whole thread and wanted to see for myself

Yet again, people on the benefits board stop giving advice and start judging other people.
Sorry Quatro, don't take it personally, they've drove many other people off the Forum with their inconsiderate attitude. Its certainly not the first time.
Personally, I think you're worried that your going to stop having any regular monthly income (i.e. benefits). Ok, you've got the £100k, but if you have no idea how to save or invest it, then I can see how you're worried you will struggle without a regular income. You obviously don't understand the complicated DWP rules on "wasting capital", which a lot of people don't which has added to your worries.
To top that off, you've just lost your own Mother.
When studying History I often wondered how anyone heartless enough to run a concentration camp could actually exist. I certainly don't wonder much anymore.
A bit of propoganda and the Benefits board could be an ideal recruiting ground for the SS!0 -
You have no idea how annoyed I am right now.
band wagon doesn't even come into it.
I suggest that some of you volunteer to help people who for what ever reason need help navigating the very complicated and confusing welfare system we have in the UK. Oh and btw that includes different set of laws/rules; England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
You might get your heads out of your own backsides for a few hours and realise why people get so worried and stressed when even a "good" situation on paper can seem to be a detrimental one.:mad::mad:0 -

I am not attacking you, I am stating my opinion. I am sorry you find it boring and tiresome but I am merely replying to your posts. Please dont try and play the sympathy card because I have heard it before. You will not be broke that is obvious. I did not say you were a scrounger or a fraud, my posts are intact so you can check what I said, I wont bore you by repeating them. It is up to you if you dont come here again it does not concern me.0 -

I wish I had because things are looking very distorted now, in future I will quote a dubious post.0
