ORANGE - can my son call me for free

Hi, wondering if anyone can help, we are moving into a town and i am going to give my 10 year old my old phone and buy a new pay as you go orange sim card for it. I have to give him a little freedom with his mates but want to be able to ring him or him ring me if needed. I am on orange pay monthly canary, if i get him an orange payg sim card can he ring any orange phone for free (namely me). thanks in advance

I presume that you're looking for a cheap no frills way of keeping in touch with your 10 year old - probably a few calls but predominantly short in length?

I would think your best bet is a Tesco SIM - you can choose 5 favourite numbers on their PAYG and pay half price (10p a min).

Failing that Virgin do a tariff for 15p a min but give you five mins free each day if you use 5 mins a day (effectively 7.5p a min).

^for your group he would need to top up £10 a month to qualify
same for magic numbers aswell though i think on payg
but if he one rings you you can nominate him as a magic number and ring him for free,

Magic number on PAYG is now 20p for an hour and yes you need to top up by £10 a month to be entitled to it.
