Hi everybody.

Been out of the country for a year now and need a bit of help finding the best contract deal for myself for September onwards.

Ideally I won't be tied down to 18 month contract, as I will almost certainly need a different contract in September 2009 -

What I need:
Lots of texts - perhaps 10 free a day? 300 a month minimum.
Any time any network calls - maybe 200 minutes a month.

What I want to pay
:
Maximum £20 a month.

So, is there anything better than the "Dolphin 20" from Orange?
(200 minutes x network, unlimited texts - £20 pm)

Many thanks guys!

Oh! Just found this from tmobile

£15 pm - 650 texts and 350 minutes. 30 day contract (same as with Orange).

That's probably the winner so far..
  • I think the best value deal - is the Vodaphone Sim only deal for 500 xnet minutes and unltd texts for £20. Go through Quidco and you'll get £90 back plus use a code (vodablue1) for a free bluetooth headset.

This is a thirty day contract.

There's also the Orange £10 NOTW for 150mins unlimited txts offer. See other thread on this forum.

I think the vodafone offer on Quidco is til the end of July as this is when the £130 for normal contract ends.

As no-one has mentioned it, you might want to check out this MSE thread here -

Some nice chap has compiled a list of tariffs and charges for SIM only tariffs from all the major players, which is rather useful. It doesn't go into all the other ways of saving money (quidco, third party cash back etc...), but it is a very good starting point.

that does sound like a really good deal, but just to clarify... am i right in thinking you'd have to keep the contract for at least 5 months in order to get the benefit from it? that is to say, the sim has to be active for at least 4 months to get the quidco, then give a month's notice (assuming the quidco has been paid).

so at the minimum, if you cancel at the earliest opportunity, this deal will cost £10 for 5 months (albeit with a free headset)?

or am i being really stupid here? (i wouldn't put it past me...)
  • No Ferris you're completely right.

However, I only mentioned the £20 SIM - since this fulfilled the OP's needs - 500 minutes and unltd texts.

    There are two £15 SIMs
    225 mins/100texts
    150mins/500 texts

So the maths would make these free for six months or a £15 profit if you leave on five months.
