    Ok if you own property there They add it onto your rates bill. Thats what happened to us with a parking fine in a hire car. I forgot to pay the fine as it was the day we come away and was going to pay it at the airport police station.When we went back a couple of months later it had been researched and a letter from the town hall was waiting for me telling me to pay it. Interest was being added for every day it was late. The hire car company never contacted us.They obviously had given the police our Uk address and the police checked against the property registar.So beware it can mount up. Why don,t you contact car hire companythey should be able to tell you if the police been in contact for details and make up your mind whether you want to pay for it or not.
