Morning all. ;) Had a nice suprise this morning when I checked the internet banking.. to find that not only has my CAB expenses cheque cleared and the child benefit gone in... also our tax credits have been paid a day early... lol
It started off lovely and sunny here (I even put a skirt on..) but now the clouds are coming over.....
I'm still trying to get my head around doing backing vocals for one of our covers. MY main issues with it being..
    A) I can't sing
    B) I'm female
    C) It's avenged sevenfold (Metal, all male vocals)
    D) I have the hand/brain coordination of a dead mongoose.

Should be fun... I can sing (I use the term sing loosely) the words.... and I can play the bassline.... but whether I can do both at the same time remains to be seen. :rotfl:

    just off to work

Starting to wonder about the strike tomorrow and Thursday and how many staff will turn up. I'm at an outpost rather than the main building so I don't know if there will be a picket line there or not and whether people will just go into work as normal. I guess I'll be going in though. The union want 6% or 50p an hour, not the 2.45% offered. 6% seems a lot but when I worked it out for me it is just under 50p an hour, so still a really small pay rise.

any other LA staff here? What are your plans etc?

    Hi Keren,

DD's school is completely closed tomorrow and Thursday, but DS's (and mine :p ) is unaffected.

Quite a few of the other schools locally are closed too.

Morning all! Happy day today- payday! The only day of the month I feel rich lol. Have paid all the bills and paid some off OH's credit card. His new phone arrived this morning (free upgrade natch) so I'm getting his old one ready for fleabay.
In even happier news- OH found out yesterday he's got job interviews for the two jobs he's applied for- both within the same company. They're about 4 hours drive away and a day apart... so the lovely company has agreed to pay for a hotel and hire car for him- woo hoo! A night in a hotel- haven't had one of them since started this DFW business. Sending positive vibes to all today... three weeks ago OH and I didn't even want to get up in the mornings as things were looking so bad... just shows that good things can and do happen!
