Miss not Mrs on air ticket

Options
Help! I just booked an airline ticket on Easyjet for my daughter and definitley entered the correct salutation. When the booking was confirmed it came out as 'Mrs' instead of 'Miss'.

Does this mattter? Do I really have to pay to change it when I know its not my fault as I check, checked again and a third time before I clicked 'confirm'.

Legally, can they stop us checking in for an incorrect salution. If you work in travel and know the legal situation I'd welcome your advise please? Thanks

Years ago on ryanair they printed miss sean davis for my son and it was meant to be mr... they noticed but said nothing. This is different but I don't think it will matter if thats the only difference. Easyjet are very easy going.

I hope not. Both my sister and I are down as Mrs for our Lufthansa flights to Germany this weekend!

    Neither of us are Mrs!

As there's no Miss/Ms/Mrs on your passport, I don't see how they can be funny about it.

As long as its the right gender (which it is in your case!!) you will be fine :T If it was a Mr Mary you would have a problem however. No need to worry

I had a ticket issued for me with Mrs once. I was about 12 or 13 at the time... no one noticed :p
  • it is a gender thing, how will they know you are miss or mrs unless it is a young child if you dont tell them as it doesnt state it on your passport.

2 years ago, my flight ticket arrived and they'd missed a letter off my surname,
rand the operater up and they said it was my fault, i said how could it be, you managed to take the money ok?
anyway, we agreed to split the name change 50-50 but i had to collect them from the airport, i arrived late and didn't have time to collect so i took a gamble on the 1st set and they never twigged on

As someone else said, there is no salutation on your passport, so no need to worry.
What if you had got married, but didn't take your husband's name, then you might go from calling yourself Miss Josephine Bloggs to Mrs Josephine Bloggs. There's no way you can "officially" record that change from Miss to Mrs.
  • hello when I booked flights recently I put my daughter through as a child when she will be 14 (adult).Being paranoid and not wanting any hassle at the airport I emailed easy jet expecting a charge. But they surprised me and made the change with no charge and sent a really nice email saying they understand mistakes happen..........

In March I flew to Florida. Tickets said Mrs and my passport said Miss and no one mentioned it.

Actually, you can't be Mrs Maiden Name.

I know, cos I'm married, but didn't take my husband's name. So I'm still Miss or Ms, but never Mrs ;)

But you're right, there's no legal logging of Miss/Mrs/Ms.
