Hello Everybody,
I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience of dealing with Nationwide's Credit Card Dispute Centre?
Earlier this year, I purchased some computer equipment online, which turned out to be faulty, and in addition an unauthorised charge was made to my credit card. After I had no luck trying to deal with the company directly, I was advised on here to contact my credit card company (Nationwide). I did this and was sent the dispute necessary forms, which I completed and returned together with copies of other relevant documents (emails, receipts etc).
After about a month, I had still not heard anything back from Nationwide. I therefore called customer services.. and they said they had not received my forms, although they did have a record of the inital call that I made to them regarding the situation. I was then advised to fax them the details of the incident in order to get the ball rolling. I called customer services back and they confirmed that they had received my fax, and would send me some more forms, and that if I wanted I could fax in copies of relevant documents (receipts, emails etc.) in order to obtain a "dispute reference number".
Two weeks elapsed and I heard nothing, so I phoned again today - this time, they said they had no record whatsoever of receiving my fax or any other additional correspondence with them!!... The customer service representative was most unhelpful and I was simply advised to fax them again. They also told me that because their dispute centre does not take calls from customers, that this was basically my only option if I wished to continue to pursue this.
I am now thoroughly fed up with the whole situation, and am reluctant to keep wasting time on money on sending further faxes and letters only for them to disappear... but the sum of money involved is sizeable, and any advice about what I should/could do would be very welcome. Thanks

I have had one or two disputes over various transactions over the years, not the fault of Nationwide but fraudulent or disputed transactions on my account. The first time I just phoned up the CC centre at Southend-on-Sea and they told me to write to them listing the transactions and sending any other relevant documents. They gave me an address to write to and since then I don't bother to phone but just write to the address given (below)
Address:
For the attention of the Dispute Dept.
Nationwide Credit Card Services
PO Box 5291
Southend-on Sea
SS99 6BX
It always seems to work (providing the query is genuine and not fraudulent in itself).0
