If this is your longest lived bank account, don't close it and use it solely for future applications for financial products, where you have to give details of one

lol when I saw this thread I was going to say how bad online banking with nationwide was!!!

I've used Halifax, Natwest and RBS online services. All do the job, can't complain about any of them really.

I've used Smile since it started (I had Co-op account before that) and haven't had any problems. Having said that I don't do anything special with it, just put money in, draw it out, and pay bills.

I've used Natwest's on line banking for about 15 years - not once set foot in a branch in that time, tis a doddle.

I think Nationwide's is the most straight forward.

I have used various others, and always came back. If only they did Faster Payments, they would be near perfect.

Thanks for all your suggestions... much appreciated.

I've not made a decision which direction to move in quite yet - I'm still making my way through all the interactive demos! ;)

I currently bank with Halifax and think their online banking service is easy to use.

Previous I have banked with Citibank, Nationwide and Coop.

Citibank online service was very good after the update earlier last year, Nationwide had excellent online banking and my only problem with Coop was debit card payments were not 'earmarked' from available balance.
