AFAIK the only pre-pay internet dongles are on "3".

It looks like their roaming costs in France are £1 or £3 per megabyte, depending on which page of their site you land.

I'd find a library over there, or another way of doing what you want.

My friend has one and it's been a nightmare, but not sure it was pay as you go. I'd be interested to hear what people suggest for you.
  • Hi - be good to re-energise this post, as in same predicament.
Im going to work in french alps for the winter, and need regular access to internet on my laptop.
What would be the cheapest way around this? does anyone know if France do a pay as you go service type dongle?
Ive heard horror stories about people using their phones internet abroad and getting huge bills.
    Must be a cheap way!
  • I have BT in UK and when in France just find a Fon hotspot and connect up.
The other alternative is of course McD's, KFC, Flunch or the local libraries.
BTW the coffee in McD's is quite good these days and wherever you are in the world the loo's also seem to be clean!!
