In a few weeks i will be moving house, moving from Yorkshire to Teesside, in Yorkshire i am with BT and have just signed with AOL, but the house i am moving too does not have a BT phone line only a NTL/Virgin. BT say they will charge me £124 to put in a BT line, if i cancel my AOL they will charge me £144. Why should i suffer just because the house has no BT line.

How did you sign up with AOL if you do not have a BT line - what telephone number did you give them to provision ADSL on? If you try to sign up on-line it asks for your telephone number!
It sounds like you would be better getting your BB from Virgin Media as a connection already exists to the property. I don't see how AOL can make you pay anything as they have not provided anything yet. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
The new house doesn't have a bt line, her current one does.0

Have a search around the forum, I will also but there is an offer for a BT line connection for £35 if you take an 18 month contract.
Is this do-able?
There also maybe a BT line present just not activated.
If the old occupier switched from BT to cable they would not come out and remove the line completely.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

I cancelled my contract with AOL and waited for my final bill, this was after i had faxed AOL in London and told them just what i thought of them, and how unfair they are. A few weeks passed i heard nothing, not a bill or letter, then out of the blue last Friday i got a phone call from AOL telling me that they would cancel my contract and i would nothing to pay.........Blimey, AOL does have a Heart!!!0 -
