Hi folks - Looking for some advice on behalf of my friend.
Last Saturday she took out a contract with in store with Carphone Warehouse for Orange Internet Everywhere - 24 months @ £30 and a free Laptop. This is the mobile internet that works with a dongle - only works when you have an orange signal.
The problem being despite her having a full bar orange signal the internet is extremely slow
and keeps dropping connection. I suggested she cancel the contract and return everything to the store as with any contract I assummed there was a cooling off period.
She called the shop and explained the problems, they said they would contact Orange and get back to her. The called back and said thats just the way it is - it must be slow due to a poor Orange reception but this is not the case as she has full bar. So she said ok then I want to cancel my contract and the guy said she could not cancel as she signed the contract so its 2 years and no going back. They say they explained that she couldnt cancel before she signed up.
I am sure there must be a way out of this contract - dont they all have cooling off periods?
Any advice on what she can do now?
Many thanks in anticipation of your help

You will need to check the terms and conditions in the contract she was given at the time, but you will need to be quick as some companies only offer upto 14 days as a cooling off period.
If they don't have a cooling off period, then I think she will be stuck in the contract for the full 2 years!0 -

Carphone warehouse do have a 14 day exchange policy for mobile phones, I would think this would be the same with any of their products, check the link out and then get in touch with them.0
