Do you think we could challenge this parking ticket?

An enginner had an appointment at a site. He needed to get in the roller shutters but they were shut. He pulled up infront and went in to get the key for it. He was gone for no more than 2 mins, came back and the bloke was giving him a ticket. Could we challenge it.
He was given the ticket under code 62 Parked with one or more wheels on or over a footpath or any part of a road other than a carriageway.
(for the address the guy wrote B5 instead of 65)

Also try pepipoo.com forums. I guess it was technically "parked" as the ticket was made out for, and on something other than the carriageway. Whether you can challenge it on the address error or not I don't know.0

How sad and mean the world is !!! My husband had a speeding ticket and they put the wrong reg number on it so he could not plead guilty by post as he was not driving that car. Good get out we thought !!! So he drove all the way to they court explained why he could not plead and they just changed the reg number in court and asked him to plead now which was of course guilty !!! So what I am saying is is it really just worth the stress/effort !!! But your example just shows you how sad this country is getting don't it !!!!0

Well I was thinking it was the carridgeway as its the entrance to the building. If the shutters were up is a road into the building.Recently married and loving it x0 -

Well think of it the other way, the carriageway has double yellows on it. I would say that area is passage onto private property. Like if you have the kerb lowered outside your house to drive through to the driveway. If it were a road in terms of the law then the double yellow markings would curve around the pavement up to the building - or terminate just before on the road at each side.
Best bet is the address error IMO.0 -

Return to the location and check to see if the lines conform to the RTA.0

Pay up, its obstruction of the footpath, why should pedestrians have to walk in the road to get round his bl**dy van,( he is also parked on the yellow lines so it is just hard luck, 10 minutes later the warden would have missed, him bad timing), I am sick & tired of drivers who think they have the god given right to park as and were they want with no regard to other people.
Also as far as I know,(at least it used to be) the yellow lines "extend" to the wall.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

The only hope is if the company involved actually owns the dropped curb piece of land. The address is worth looking into but if what lisa2905 said is true and is legally valid (i.e. the court did not act improperly) then it seems you have no chance there either. Even so, surely the name of the road is on the ticket, what matters is that the vehicle was seen on that road on the pavement, the building number would not be crucial IMHO.0 -
Doesn't matter, it's obstruction of the footpath.

The van is still parked on the yellow lines/road so he actually has a double whammy.
Also if you look at the photo, the lines appear to have gone round the dropped area at one time.
It also looks like that roller door is an exit,(arrow on road suggesting one way street?), he should not be going in that wayDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

I agree. where would a pedestrian with a puschair have gone or a blind person. I would have sympathy had he parked on the double yellows and left the pathway clear.0
