overclockers - another reason not to buy there
Comments
-
I have ordered stuff from overclockers at various times over the last few years, while building systems for both myself and friends. The only real problem I had with them was when I had to return a faulty graphics card; it took about 3 months to get the replacement and I could never reach them on the phone. They eventually installed a "webnotes" type system and I got very quick service after that, so I put it down to a staffing shortfall.
However, those linked posts to their forums are shocking. I don't think I will use them again. Thank you for the information!
Paul.

Also there's absolutely no point in buying from them as you can get pretty much everything they sell from alternate suppliers for the same price/cheaper.
Check out Scan, Tekheads, Komplett, Kustompcs, CCL, SVP, CPU City, Chillblast, or even eBuyer (ok they're not amazing but still leagues ahead of ocuk).0 -

you havent even read about the absolute total ignorance of the owner Mark Proudfoot (Spie) and his attitudes to his customers (and non-caucasian's) yet
Check this out:
http://forums.overcockers.com/viewtopic.php?t=66
Download the file on that link - it reveals some astonishing goings on 'behind the scenes' on his forums.
He openly brags about his 'latest flash car' on his thread, but when another guy posted his car's pics they were promptly deleted from his forums because apparently 'that guy didnt give enough respect to Spie's cars' (i.e. he never added a brown nosing reply to his bragging thread saying 'NICCCCCCCCE MOTOR SPIEEEEEEEE'.
That user happened to be the owner of the .co.uk hosting company where the Overclockers forums are hosted.
Furthermore, Moderators on his forums are referred to as 'Dons', and have to constantly give brown nosing remarks to boost the owner's ego -- check the download on that link for more revelations
He's also screwed many 'Dons' in the past. Those that dont 'give him enough respect' get booted out and screwed massively.
On the now famous 'Why do Pakistanis smell' thread he called his customers 'idiots'.
When he makes a post on his forums, his controversial comments are immediately followed by ego-boosting replies from his army of 'Dons'. Thats a requirement if you are to be a Don.
Forum members posts occasionally get edited or deleted to say what the owner wants them to say.
Any forum member asking innocent questions like 'how can i get through to OC as my graphics card is faulty etc, either gets banned, or gets their post deleted.
Aside from being a racist individual his company's after sales customer service is non existent. Lets hope he goes out of business soon
Judging by the number of Anti OC threads on this and other forums I dont think that day is far off0
