Train Fares

Hello
Any users of trains might be interested in a 100% legit way to lower your fares on a regular basis without vouchers etc.
A journey that I used to make (40 miles) on the train cost me £14 return. I personally thought this was a rip off but as I live in a pretty rural area I had no real alternative.
I found that buying a ticket from my leaving point to a station 'half way' and then a ticket from 'half way' to my destination was cheaper than buying the simple A-B (if that makes sense!).
I realise this won't work with all fares but worth checking out if you have time as my fare went from £14 to £11 and £3 a ride saved, saved me a fair bundle!
Be good to know if anybody finds they save by doing this!
