I've got the free 50 minutes too from my usual O2 number which has £13 credit on, I have used some of the minutes but I have not been charged for it.

This information is normally stated on the white label attached to the plastic pouch that the new SIM is delivered in.

It relates to the fact that the SIM is pre-set to the Calls & Messages option (i.e. 100 free any UK network calls and messaging units to use as you like.)

The other option is 2OMSSIMN which relates to a SIM pre-set to the Messages option (i.e. 300 free UK messaging units to use as you like)

Note that you can switch between the 2 options by texting ONMSG to 21300 for the Messages option or ONCALLSMSG to 21300 for Calls & Messages option.

    Muhamid,

What am I doing wrong? I have the 20MSSIMN (actually 8 off), I registered one of the sims last night and requested the calls50 bolt on. I received an email this morning saying I need to top up before I choose a bolt on treat. When I try to make a call I am directed to the top up area. Is it because I still need to wait for the full 48 hours or will it not work for me?

I think the sims are about 6 months old.

I can see it has worked for others so I thank you for the post even if I doesn't work for me.

    Hi stabilo,
Some times it can be activated after 24 hours some times it takes more time.but max. 48 hours.
you will receive confirmation text some thing like 'your bolt on has been loaded to your account'
Onother thing your sim should not be older than 6 months.
if its 6 months old then call on 2211 and choose your free treat.

nup - I got a text saying "sorry, you need to topup before receiving this bolt on"

  • Can someone clear this query up for me please?
If everything goes ahead and works ok i.e you get the free bolt on working
Whenever the anniversary of your bolt-on date comes round will they not take the money out of your credit ? Ive had a look at all the posts etc on here and read the t&c's on o2 website etc and notice that the "promotional period" dosent actually start until the 29th october.
Surely this means that you will have entered into that offer outside of the promo period.
Does this then mean that once your first month is up you will become liable for the charges, even though you have received confirmation of the free bolt-on?
I hope it dosent, but it does seem a little strange to me that the treats for new customers has been widely known for a few weeks, but yet 02 have delayed starting the promo offer til end of october. Why dont they just start it straight away?Perhaps a cunning ploy from 02 ?
Just a query folks and hope that this hasnt been posted here before .
    Cheers stevie
