For anyone who managed to get their mits on one of the very shiny toys yesterday (and even better, got it to work!), it looks like yahoo email offers free push, see http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=520401 for more info.

I tried this out earlier tonight and managed to receive an email on the phone less than 30 secs after hitting send on the PC. The iphone was on the home screen btw.

yep, also works with googlemail and aol.

I also use www.mail2web.com for exchange to keep contacts and calendar stuff so if ever i have a problem they'll always be up to date and... it's free (although you can't sync with outlook on your pc, only via the web)

Google Mail and AOL don't do push. Yahoo! has done push since the original iPhone launch.

I Think that it may be possible to use emoze (windows software) to push your emails to iphone, however, it may require that your computer is left on at all times, so may actually not be of use whilst away from your computer, unless it is always on.

    emoze here

So I guess you could forward emails on to a yahoo address though, and therefore get push email?
