I must admit since stumbling across this thread yesterday I feel guilty every time I even think of turning on the oven.
You are not the only one. I have followed this thread since the beginning and still cannot decide whether to get one or not. My main concern is whether it will last long enough for me to recoup the initial outlay, let alone save on the electricity bill. I also cannot work out where on my limited worktop space I could use it without risking damage to other things or myself, and I don't like the sound of steam getting in the handle and tripping the electrics. Are folk cooking fairly wet foods when that happens?

I wandered into Aldi today and see they are selling a 4 litre Cast Aluminium cooking pot for £12.99. The 24cm fits with the Ramoska Std. element (I tried it), is triple coated non-stick, has a glass (non oven safe) lid. Can't tell you how it bakes yet. That will be tested tomorrow.

Would be interested to see what other users think of it.
(I have no connection with the Store)

Thanks thought this was a great idea and was just about to go check Aldi near us when I thought I should check our pans first to see if any fit, well I have a 5 litre stainless steal pan that the remoska lid fits just right, the bottom of the pan is to big to go on the base so I thought it should be ok just resting on the hob. I know it will take longer than the standard, but will give that bit extra room for when the family come. I'd like to say thank you to everyone for all the tips and recipes etc, I've used my remoska a lot but am using it even more now.;)
  • I was wondering if there was a thread with links to all the different remoska recipes that have been posted here, like the Slow Cooker recipe index? If I had time I would read through all of the 1600 posts in the Remoska cookers thread.

I have had no problem with mine whatsover. Lakeland have a lifetime guarantee so you have no worries with them.

I am saving money with the Remoska but that is just one of the reasons I bought one. It is so easy to use, food retains moisture - Chicken is lovely. It is so easy to clean. I can cook 'fried' foods and dont have to degrease the kitchen after and no lingering smells. It is briliant for baking.

My Remoska is generally used once per day and on some days up to 3 times.

    Hi mystery,

I've added your query into the main remoska thread. I'm afraid that there isn't an index of the remoska recipes and unfortunately at the moment Penny and I don't have the time to go through the threads to make a list of the recipes, but perhaps someone else will see your post and decide to do an index. :)

Thanks Muppet81 and Naseby. I think I will get mum a standard size then, with a rack & shallow pan.
This evening I've made a glorious Chicken & Leek Cobbler in mine. It was delicious :)

    Lakeland are just amazing!

I've succumbed and ordered a Grande remoska.
My main concern is that it won't be large enough. But I know Lakeland won't give me any trouble if I want to return it.
