I use a harness with my staffie, you have more control over the dog, especially if she is a puller (mine was awful for pulling before). enjoy your new dog x

Re the harness -depends how hard she pulls - I have a halti on mine as I need the security of knowing what the front (teeth) end is getting up to, but would probably use a harness otherwise. Bull terriers have strong necks so if she's not pulling madly she shouldn't hurt herself with an ordinary collar ( but avoid choke chains like the plague, imo.) I can't put an ordinary collar/lead on my dog because she has such a thick neck and pin head that it comes straight over the top.
I'd second the previous post re tennis balls - they're gone in about thirty seconds and I had a near miss with swallowed bits when the kennels gave her one to play with.
re vets - my local charges £18 for a consultation, then the cost of any treatment/injections on top of that. If the previous owner doesn't have the vaccination book, the vet who did it should still have the records, so could they be contacted - save having to pay for more if you don't need them.

I'm impressed with the 6 o'clock walk - bet it was lovely and peaceful though. I like walking mine when I finish work, as that's my "switch off" time, when I can start to wind down and leave work behind.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I got up at 6am and took her for a walk, it was great!

    Great stuff!!! :D

Just remember though that she will quickly fall into a routine and expect to be walked EVERY morning at 6am, and whilst you probably enjoy doing this on a nice sunny summer's morning (I know I do!) will you still feel the same on a freezing cold, dark and wet winter's morning? ;)

She doesnt drink much, which is worrying me.
Also she's wining quite a bit, do you think it's coz she misses her owners?
