Seller won't sell

I've just won something on ebay (worth probably £100-£150) for 99p as nobody else bid on it. Just got an email saying she won't sell and to make a better offer. I can understand but why put it up for 99p if you won't sell for that? Should I make an offer or try for 99p? Have I got a right to get it for that price?

I am not saying it is right, but if you were in the same situation which would you settle for, a negative feedback or a loss of £100 - £150? The reason people start an item at a 99p start is a because it is cheaper to list and b because usually things end up with a better price.Loving the dtd thread. x0

hi,
as far as i know she has to sell it if you were the winning bidder, if she didnt want it to go for that price then she should have put a 'reserve' price on it.
i have sold enough on ebay now to know that an item may go for much less than it is worth sometimes, if you put a low starting price on it then thats the chance you take.
i would contact ebay and ask them.

it's up to you, you can either hold out and try and pay what you won, or you can report them as a non-performing seller and also for fee avoidance. the latter seems to encourage ebay to act more than the former.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'

Yes you have a right to buy in theory, in practice though no one can force the seller to sell.
They are obviously one of the TSFE sellers we sometimes come across and best put out of their misery. Start a non performing seller complaint on them and consider leaving a negative as well if you are aggrieved enough. They really do need to udnerstand that they need to think carefully about their low start strategy if they want to be viable on ebay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes they can, it's buyers who cant get a negative.
Also depending on feedback level one neg and a non performing seller complaint might be enough to get a seller temporarily suspended, so definitely not worth taking silly risks with a low start price if you are not prepared to sell.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Then you need to decide how to proceed as a neg and a non peforming seller complaint will almost certainly put an end to this seller on ebay. If you think that is too harsh then maybe email her again and explain that the rules mean she should list for a price she is happy to accept, and giver her a chance to accept the sale.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
