I have an L & G maxi share ISA can I take a small sum out and leave the bulk of the money in? And if so how long does it take to get the cheque? Any help would be appriciated.

Yes you can sell as many units as you want or sell enough to give you the pound amount you need. Once you cash in part of your ISA, you cannot replace it.
The money should reach you in about 5-10 days. Look up the T&Cs to see how to go about it and how long it will take.0
