I should change career; Nice little earner indeed. The phonecall to the OFT must have cost a heck of a lot more than that but thanks for saving us all.

Seriously, Trading Standards do have a limit either side of perfect (+1% and -0.5%?) so clicking over by 0.1% on £10 (and probably still 0.01% on £100) isn't exactly going to send them flying into action. They don't all do that - I can't say that it has ever ticked over after I've filled up to a round number.

I agree with you Andena, I fill up 2 or 3 times a week, and that would add up over the year.

Blimey. How far do you drive?

I drive 20,000 miles a year and fill up about once a fortnight.

    I fill up 2.5 times a week, I do 16,000 miles, this 1p rip off would equal £1.20 on a £10 purchase

    It's shocking.

Ok I know a penny ain't much but it does happen often. I have lost count of the number of times its happend to me. I have never mentioned it though, its not worth sticking around for a penny.
