I have the Canon i865 and carts (6 series)are £1.49+vat if bought in 3's from https://www.cartex.co.uk is this the cheapest ?0

i buy all my ink carts for my canon 9000 from pc world at 5 quid each ( they price match you know ) so for the 6 carts it's only 30 quid
this is for the orig carts not compats i never use compats whats the point of buying an expensive printer and feeding it cheap 3rd party inks
find yourself a friendly computer shop within 25 miles of your local pc world have a chat to the owner and see if you can work out prices with the owner and use them for price matching
you can price match anything pc world stock cheaper than trade if you sort it out properly;D 8)

I ordered a black ORIGINAL no 56 HP ink from https://www.valueshop.co.uk and it cost only £12.49 incl P&P.
It arrived less than 24 hours after ordering. Not bad I thought. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Well I was going to recommend https://www.printers-inc.com as they have been cheap in the past, but just checked and their prices have gone up a lot. https://www.ebuyer.com looks pretty cheap for cartridges, actually they're normally cheapest for pretty much anything they sell. They do charge P&P so probably not worth it if you only want a couple cartridges, but if you need any other computer bits or are stocking up with cardridges then they'll probably be cheapest. However they do have the somewhat ridiculous policy that you can't order from them if someone has ever ordered from them at your address, which means I have to place orders to my parents' address.0

Two questions:
1. I just just bought a Canon i9900, and I'm getting into this, so excuse my ignorance, but what is VAT?
2. Has anyone come across a site selling cartridges for the i9900? I know they're the same cartridges as the other printers using the BC-6 inks, however, they also have two more, a red and a green. I live in the states, and most of the sites you guys have mentioned are overseas (which means more shipping for me).

Yes, this is a UK forum so that's why mainly UK sites were mentioned! VAT is Value Added Tax, basically a sales tax that applies to most purchases in the UK (current VAT rate is 17.5%).
If you search google.com for "cheap inkjet cartridges" or something you might find some US companies selling them cheap. I shouldn't think it's worth buying them from UK websites as shipping, tax and import duty (coupled with a long wait for delivery) will mean you won't save anything.
Most of these seem to be American companies:

Choicestationary are cheap and have fast delivery but the quality of their carts are just poor compared to originals! I used the black ink cart on my s200x printer and you could instantly tell the difference between the orginals and the compatibles.
Only recommended if quality isn't an issue!0 -
I use Choice Stationary. I have never found anyone cheaper and I have never been messed about by them.
NEVER use http://www.pcxtreme.uk.com/ their website is flashy and their service quick, but if anything goes wrong don't expect anything - I spent hours chasing them and got nowhere and they bodged my order up twice on the trot. Tell everyone - in the last e-mail I sent to them I promised I tell the world about how bad they were. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I buy mine from:
http://www.inkcartridges.uk.net/
They are 3.99 for my particular model (i550)- but they do a 3 for 2 if you buy the same one (i.e. buy 3 black cartridges).
Best of all, prices include P&P - and no minimum.0
