Orange 18 month contract

Hi, I'm not sure anyone can help as Orange certainly can't!
I'm nearly half way through an 18 month £25 contract with Orange. I'm also a full time uni student and have been in and out of hospital, 3 operations since christmas so have found it hard to keep down a part time job. I phoned Orange up and explained the situation, saying i was happy with them (ummm?) but i couldnt afford to keep paying but they say there's nothing they can do as im already on thelowest contract. Surely if somebody died they wouldnt say there is nothing they can do...? Does anyone know if there's anything i can say, do or kick off about that would t get me out of this. I'd be happy if i could go back to payg even, but not some contract where they have no morals. Thanks

Unfortunately it seems as though you neglect the fact that you have signed a contract. You cannot just get-out of it.
Yes, if you die, they cancel the contract - but then again that's cos you're not alive to pay!

if your account is uptodate (ie. no outstanding bills, you can request a temporary disconnection (between 3-6months). Your account will be suspended (tel. no. not accessible) for 3-6mths. it will then be reactivated and you continue as you were at time of suspension.

this should allow you time to recover from your bad health.

only option which i can really see as viable for you.
