Perhaps pm wiseinvestor or call them on

I really wouldn't like my phone number on a public forum - richardw I think you should delete it.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I know someone who is telling me a friend of his knows a BA Pilot, he is saying that the pilot can get them a discounted airfarefor him and his friend, which I am not sure if I should believe or not. I know someone who works for Lufthansa and he tells me you can only get discounted airfaires for family only.

So I just wanted to know for sure if he is telling me the truth.

Ah, OK, sorry, but that wasn't at all clear from your initial post.

you should believe your friend ....however it isn't always that great a deal and sometimes very similar to that available to the general public.
this is what the person will have got and not the standby / accompanied deals they do.
  • my dad is retired BA staff and there is a friends and family discount line which is advertised in the ba staff newspaper, now from past experience of trying this you will get cheaper flights from the likes of airline network etc I think it tends to be discounted from higher fare prices or something, either way whilst they may be very slightly cheaper than what you can maybe get on the ba site but from personal experience it wasnt worth it...far as i know it is just a phone line number to ring....and nothing super special lol
  • The pilot is talking about Hotline fares. Its 10% off all BA published fares with some tactical discounts, for example last summer, Bermuda was £499 in Club class on Hotline (normally around £4000).

    Hi hammer,

It would be nice to believe my friend, but his truth is not always exact, let me give you an example, if he/we were looking for something at a good price, and he finds one from the "Internet Store" at £2.89, I have had him say he paid £2.65 now why lie about that sort of thing, then when you say where did you get it I forget? This was the reason for my request.

    Thanks for your reply,
