  • I can sympathise with your situation - mine looks like it could head this way too though I'm doing my best to stop it.

I read your thread with great interest last week. How are things going now?

    Thanks Black Saturn,
I have had a quick look at your site and some of it although not all matches the situation. I will spend longer on it at some point, but time is an issue as either the children need attention or OH is at home and can't be doing with explaining why I would be looking at a site like that.!!

Well done for surviving on benefits and becoming debt free a year ago. What a weight off your shoulders that must have been.

i just wish I could make a decision but as soon as I start to summon the courage he changes and becomes nice as pie, and makes me feel all the problems are my fault. I know I'm not blameless but in his eyes he's an angel!
I know exactly how you are feeling. I went through a 12 year relationship exactly the same as that. It is now recognised as a type of domestic violence and even though you might not be being hit emotional abuse is recognised as leaving deeper scars than physical abuse. I walked out in the middle of the night while he was asleep with my 2 children with 2 carrier bags of clothes, £5 in my purse and my mobile phone. I lost everything else I ever owned as the courts said I knowingly walked out of my own accord. But believe me it is worth it. The night I walked out I felt so exctatic (sp?) I felt like skipping down the road. It was wonderful.

You sound like you might benefit from attending a freedom programme. They have them in most towns around the UK and you can find your local one by typing in 'your town (it's name) freedom programme' or by going to your doctors and asking or any womens centre or even the doctors.
