Seems like a great deal to me. Does anybody know who makes Technika? Do any of you techy marvels wish to shoot down this deal in flames?0

Notice how their detailed specification for this TV does not mention things like brightness, contrast ratio, viewing angle, picture frequency etc. Aren't most 42" TV's plasma? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Aren't most 42" TV's plasma?

Looks good ! Great price, 720p though would probably buy if it was 1080p0

I ordered one on Saturday and it comes on Thursday; I saw it in the shop and although I am not exactly the most techie person ithe picture quality was excellent and I have read reviews and they all seemed positive.
My mum got her staff discount too, so I got it for around £350.....I will let you know what its like once we have it set up!0 -
What about this one from Tesco, a 37" LCD 1080p for £399.

Is it any good as my parents are looking for a new TV for around this price?0 -
Nice find ! Best priced LCD i've seen yet !
Looking elsewhere as i was searching for a new tv passed few days
Dabs.com 42" LG 1080p - £599.99, great price ! limited time offer, i'd recommend it
http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=53PVWS
And then there was the 42" Vistron 1080p TV at Ebuyer.com - £499.99 + Free stand (£75) or dvd/divx player (£50)
Guess it depends on your preference, well known brands against cheaper less well known brands0 -
Just my tuppence worth. I bought a HannSpree 37" LCD from eBuyer at Christmas for £400 and have been delighted with it. I'm not sure that the human eye can distinguish between 720 and 1080, indeed many of the reviews I have read have said 720's provides a superior picture, The fact is you're only going to notice any difference on a DVD and even then your DVD player's quality is almost directly proportionate to it's price. A £20 Aldi job will never get near the quality of a £300 Denon having said that, the quality of BBC broadcasts over a digital network (mines Virgin but I expect Sky and Freeview are the same) are amazing despite it not being HD yet.
If you fancy a big TV, most of the budget models are a pretty good quality and the ony time you (might) notice a difference is when you walk into your mates house and he/she has spent £2 or £3K on a Sony or Panasonic matched LCD/Plasma, DVD, surround sound system.
Interested to hear how the earlier poster gets on with their Tesco's Technic.Regards
