Hi Madlyn,
I've been with them for five years. Had their ups and downs over that
period - but the last year has been excellent as far as I am concerned.
BT took them over a couple of years ago and promised they'd have
a hands off policy relating the day-to-day management of Plusnet.
So far, so good on that level.
If you see a package that Plusnet offers, that fulfills your needs, at a
price you're happy with, then I'd say go for it.
Good luck,
Frank.0 -
Worst ISP i ever used, expensive for what you get. BUT I am going back about 3 years.0

Have been with them for years like Frank. They have had their good times and bad times and made some big mistakes. They are good if you want to do inexpensive browsing and email. If you are going to be a heavy user doing p2p and big downloads, they will be very expensive and you would be better off with an ISP who specialises in this field.
Plus points: For light internet use, they are very cheap. Support is 24/7 and UK based (with Geographic phone number). You can get fast support from the tech guys via the online forum (saves going via the helpdesk staff). Comprehensive package with webspace, emails, etc.
Minus points: Not really suitable for p2p or heavy use. Can hide sneaky exit fees in the small print so read everything before you sign up.0 -
I am just leaving them after 3 years - very slow speeds and unstable connection0

Used them 2 years ago based on some good reviews. Very very dissapointed with the speed and hidden charges, as well as the constantly changing T&C.
Now a happy Bethere user.0 -

You can't always blame the ISP for unstable connections. There are so many factors affecting ADSL broadband. My Plusnet connection is very stable and is 6M even at busy times so as they say, your mileage may vary.0 -
I've been with them for 3 months, no problems. you can easily check your usuage and pay for extra bandwidth by the gigabyte, so its easy to keep track of your bill. I had a slight problem and they resolved it very quickly. The big selling point for me was the monthly contract. I had BT broadband before this which was slower and more expensive.0

I know BT own Plusnet, having been with both I can assure you my Plusnet experience has been much better than my BT experience, both for connection and customer service.0
