AHHHHHH- Have just recieved another- "thank you for your letter, the contents have been noted- please telephone this office"
I am so angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This has been going on since the start of the year- I write to them offering payment asking for details to pay and they tell me to call them- this is my hubbys account who will not speak on the phone to anyone but his family!!
I cant express how much there attitude and utter lack of customer service is getting to me- the swear filter would remove it all!!! I am sure they dont read the letters just log it into the computer and the computers randomly generates a reply-
Is this harassment cause I certainly feel harassed-
GRRRRRR- no idea what to do now other than resend my last letter again-

I would ask CAB as they might have come across this with other people. They may be able to help you draft a letter that will get what you want and them off your back.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

Dear Moron
Despite numerous communications in writing to yourselves stating that, for justified reasons, my husband cannot ring you, your only reply to date is that we telephone you.
Please also be aware that it is widely believed that this is because it is easier for the debt collection industry to harass a client on the phone and then have deniability later should a complaint be issued. Please note this comment is not slanderous, but public opinion, which is easily proved by a simple internet search on the practices of debt collection agency’s.
Due to your continued actions I have no choice but to issue you with a notice of harassment as you are clearly in breach of OFT guidelines,
This, from OFT guidlines,
Deceptive and/or unfair methods
2.7 Dealings with debtors are not to be deceitful and/or unfair.
2.8 Examples of unfair practices are as follows:
a. sending demands for payment to an individual when it is uncertain that
they are the debtor in question, for example, threatening debt recovery
action to 'the occupier' or sending a payment demand to all people sharing
the same name/date of birth as a debtor in the hope that contact with the
correct debtor will be made.
b. disclosing debt details to an individual when it is uncertain that they are
the debtor in question, for example, disclosing details to 'the occupier' of
an address.
c. refusing to deal with appointed or authorised third parties, such
as Citizens Advice Bureaux, independent advice centres or money
advisers
d. contacting debtors directly and bypassing their appointed representatives
e. operating a policy, without reason, of refusing to negotiate with
debt management companies
f. passing on debtor details to debt management companies without the
debtors' informed prior consent
g. failing to refer on to the creditor reasonable offers to pay by instalments
h. not passing on payments received within a reasonable time resulting in
delays that adversely affect a debtor's financial position.
i. failing to investigate and/or provide details as appropriate, when a debt is
queried or disputed, possibly resulting in debtors being wrongly pursued
as even though we are attempting to come to an agreement to pay your actions are preventing this, which I deem to be in breach of the items highlighted in red.
Please note this is the last communication I will send regarding the matter until such time you respond correctly, and that any further communication requesting us to ring will be disregarded.
Please also note that the above will be used in our defense should you attempt to seek any legal action against us, and will also be included in a complaint to the OFT and any other regulatory body or enforcement agency we se fit.
I hope this makes our position crystal clear
Yours sincerely

Hears a base for a letter for you devonsdreamer If anyone wants to correct or add anything feel free, letter writing isn’t my strong point but it’s a start
if you have any proof of delivery for you communications so far work them into it somewhere and include a copy of your last offer of payment then send it all recorded or special delivery.
Once you have that’s all you can do, if they still fail to respond then you will need to start reporting them, we will cross that bridge when that happensThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

I have sent everything by recorded delivery and have copies of all letter sent by both sides- I even kept a log of all phone calls- it is just getting me down having to deal with it- hubby wont/cant do it - he would just pretend it wasnt happening and it would just get worse, I would then have more worry to deal with,
Thanks for your support and suggestions- hubby gets in a panic as soon as i mention anythingDon't get strung out by the way I look,

Im so glad you have, as that puts you in a lot stronger position than them
I understand why, been there done that, but trust me they are virtually powerless once you start reading up on the relavent laws and legaslation, so much so its laughable, sooner you believe that the sooner you might actually find yourself enjoying playing with them:pThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

Had a thought- now I am working do i need to include my wages on any income expenditure I send in - they closed our joint accounts due to me going bankrupt and wouldnt allow hubby to hve it in his name and make payments towards it. Should I be made to contribute towards it-Don't get strung out by the way I look,
